Ethyl Levulinate

Ethyl levulinate, also known as ethyl pentorulate, is an organic compound. It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a slightly apple-like odor. Its boiling point is 206℃ or 93–94℃ (2400 Pa), its density is 1.016 g/cm³, and its flash point is 94℃. It is soluble in water, ethanol, and most organic solvents. According to GB 2760-96, it is listed as a permitted food flavoring and can be used as a biodiesel additive, a green solvent, and a pharmaceutical intermediate. This product is typically produced by the direct esterification of levulinic acid and ethanol in benzene or toluene in the presence of sulfuric acid.

Storage Method：Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated warehouse, away from fire and heat sources, and avoid direct sunlight. Keep packaging sealed. Store separately from acids and food chemicals. The storage area must be equipped with spill response materials.
