Propylene glycol (1,2‑propanediol, C₃H₈O₂) is a diol containing two hydroxyl groups. It appears as a colorless, transparent, viscous liquid with a slightly sweet taste and no odor. It is miscible with water, acetone, chloroform, and many other solvents. The liquid is generally non‑irritating and has very low volatility.

 

Product Features

Application

1. This product can be used as a solvent for flavors and fragrances, condiments and food pigments, packaging softener for food, anti-sticking agent for food, humectant for tobacco, mildew inhibitor, ripening preservative and antifreeze for fruits, heat transfer medium, emulsifier, etc.

2. It can also be used as a solvent of food marking ink for lubricating oil of food processing equipment

3. It can be widely used as a humectant in daily chemical industry

 

Packaging and Transportation

1. It can be packaged in a galvanized iron bucket or a plastic drum, with specifications of 25 kg, 200 kg and 215 kg.

2. It can be packaged in an ISO tank or a liquid bag, or according to the requirements of customers.

 

Safety and Storage

1. The product should be stored in a cool and ventilated warehouse. The warehouse temperature should not exceed 37°C and the relative humidity should be controlled below 60%.

2. It should be stored separately from oxidants, reductants, acids, etc. It is prohibited to mix them in storage and it is necessary to keep containers sealed

3. It should be kept away from kindling and heat sources and it is prohibited to use mechanical equipment and tools that are easy to generate sparks

4. The storage area should be equipped with emergency treatment devices for leakage. The cushion layer should be provided at the bottom layer when it is stored by stacks. The stacking height should not exceed 2m
