Product Details

Disperse Red 60 is a low-temperature (E-type) disperse dye widely used as the principal red component in trichromatic color-matching systems for synthetic fibers. The product is supplied as a purplish-red powder with controlled particle morphology, designed for stable dispersion in aqueous dye baths.

From a chemical standpoint, the dye displays selective solvent behavior that is characteristic of its molecular structure. It shows a red coloration in 50% acetone, dissolves in aromatic solvents such as tetrahydronaphthalene and xylene, and forms a yellow solution in concentrated sulfuric acid. The molecule is alkaline-sensitive and should therefore be applied under mildly acidic conditions to maintain shade stability. In practical dyeing environments, Disperse Red 60 is susceptible to interference from divalent metal ions; calcium and iron ions may induce a blue-toned shift after dyeing, while contact with copper or iron surfaces can result in noticeable shade lightening. For optimal color control, softened water and non-metallic equipment are recommended.

In textile applications, Disperse Red 60 is primarily used for dyeing and printing polyester fibers and their blends. It produces a bright blue-red shade with strong lightfastness and demonstrates reliable leveling behavior during high-temperature, high-pressure dyeing. When applied to polyester/wool blends, the dye shows low affinity for wool, effectively minimizing cross-staining and enabling clean, well-defined coloration of the polyester component.

The dye has limited resistance to sublimation, which should be considered in thermally intensive processes. In hot-melt dyeing, its use is generally restricted to pale shades to reduce the risk of color migration. Application on acrylic fibers is not recommended due to low dye uptake, a tendency toward bluish coloration, and insufficient wash fastness. In printing, the dye is suitable for direct printing on polyester and nylon substrates, as well as for transfer printing processes. However, it is not suitable as a ground color for discharge printing where a white discharge effect is required.

As a fundamental red element within the three-primary-color system, Disperse Red 60 can be combined with compatible yellow and blue disperse dyes to generate a wide range of hues. Our product is manufactured with strict control over particle size distribution and dispersion quality to ensure consistent performance. Technical support and auxiliary recommendations are available to address ion sensitivity and process optimization, supporting stable and vivid dyeing results in industrial production.

Disperse General Series

Adventures: The conventional disperse dye series is defined by its well-balanced performance, wide applicability, and strong cost efficiency. Built on proven and mature technology, it offers easy processing, a complete color range, and good color-matching flexibility. With stable and dependable dyeing behavior in standard polyester applications, this series provides excellent economic value and remains the basic, go-to option for large-scale, mainstream textile production.
Applicable industries: The conventional series of disperse dyes is primarily used in the textile manufacturing industry.
Recommend process: We mainly suggest two application methods: high-temperature high-pressure dyeing and hot-melt (thermosol) dyeing. Regardless of the process selected, a thorough reduction clearing step after dyeing is essential to remove unfixed dye from the fiber surface and to ensure the required colorfastness of the finished fabric.
