Product Details

Disperse Blue 79 is an environmentally compliant disperse dye developed for high-temperature dyeing of polyester materials. It is supplied as a deep blue powder or low-dust granules and functions as a primary navy shade within high-temperature trichromatic color-matching systems. The color is achieved through a precisely controlled formulation based on compatible yellow-brown and red disperse dye components, ensuring depth and shade consistency during application.

The dye exhibits typical disperse dye solubility behavior: it is insoluble in water but dissolves in organic solvents such as acetone. When applied to polyester fibers, it produces a dark navy tone with strong depth, while red-toned fibers may display a lighter reddish nuance. The product shows limited sensitivity to iron ions, whereas copper ions can induce shade variation under alkaline conditions. For optimal color stability, dyeing is recommended in a mildly acidic environment, generally within a pH range of 5–6.

Disperse Blue 79 is suitable for common high-temperature dyeing routes, including high-temperature high-pressure dyeing at 125–135°C and hot-melt dyeing at approximately 190–210°C. It demonstrates very good resistance to sublimation, making it appropriate for medium to deep shades that may undergo thermal exposure. However, its performance during heat-setting and in combination with resin finishing systems requires careful control of processing temperature and dwell time to avoid shade alteration.

In terms of application range, the dye is intended primarily for polyester fibers and polyester-containing blends. It is not suitable for rayon dyeing and is generally not recommended for printing applications on acrylic, nylon, or polyester due to insufficient brightness. The dye blends well with other disperse dyes, allowing flexible color formulation across a wide navy and dark color spectrum. Co-processing with alkaline reactive dyes in the same bath should be avoided, as alkaline conditions may adversely affect shade and fastness.

As an ECO-grade product, Disperse Blue 79 is manufactured using optimized synthesis and purification procedures to minimize AOX content and control heavy metal residues. It complies with major international environmental textile standards, including OEKO-TEX® and bluesign®. Practical application recommendations include testing water quality to limit copper ion contamination, extending holding time for deep-shade dyeing to improve color build-up, and carefully managing finishing temperatures to prevent prolonged high-heat exposure.

This product is well suited for environmentally demanding applications such as outdoor textiles, workwear, and high-quality polyester fabrics. It is available in both standard powder and low-dust granular forms and is supported by comprehensive eco-certification documentation and technical service.

FAQ

Q: In which industries are these dyes primarily used?

A: The Disperse Environmental Protection Series primarily serves synthetic fiber dyeing and finishing, environmentally compliant textile manufacturing, and high-end and export-oriented product systems, providing crucial disperse dye solutions for modern green dyeing and finishing processes.

Q: What process is recommended for the application of this series of dyes in textiles?

A: For the eco-friendly series of disperse dyes, the recommended process is essentially the same as that for the corresponding conventional series. This is because the environmental upgrades primarily involve enhancing the purity of the chemical structure rather than fundamentally altering the dyeing mechanism. So we primarily recommend two processes: high-temperature, high-pressure dyeing and hot-melt roll dyeing.

Q: What should you do if a customer cannot find the color they want?

A: If the product does not meet customer requirements during use, please contact us promptly. We will assess the situation and arrange a replacement or return as appropriate, with product quality as our top priority.
