Product Details
Reactive Blue 19 is a vinyl sulfone–type reactive dye based on an anthraquinone chromophore, supplied as a uniform blue powder. It is widely recognized for its high water solubility, strong reactivity, and excellent shade stability. The dye shows characteristic color reactions that can be used for identification: in concentrated sulfuric acid it appears dark red and forms a navy-blue precipitate after dilution; in concentrated nitric acid it displays a yellow tone that remains unchanged upon dilution. Its aqueous solution is a bright, stable blue, resistant to color change in alkaline conditions. When reduced with sodium dithionite, a reddish-brown precipitate forms, which can be re-oxidized with sodium borate to recover a light purple coloration.
From an application standpoint, Reactive Blue 19 offers outstanding solubility, exceeding 150 g/L at 20 °C, allowing easy preparation of high-strength dye solutions. It produces a brilliant, intense blue shade with good stability and shows minimal sensitivity to metal ions such as iron and copper. As a typical vinyl sulfone reactive dye, it combines strong fiber affinity with high chemical reactivity. It reacts readily with cellulose fibers, including cotton and viscose, forming durable covalent bonds that result in excellent wet fastness. At standard depth, it provides moderate resistance to bleaching, making it suitable for medium to deep shades and for processes involving discharge printing.
The dye is applicable to a wide range of cellulose dyeing methods, such as pad–dip dyeing, pad dyeing, pad–batch, and continuous pad–steam processes. It performs particularly well in continuous systems, offering high fixation efficiency with reduced alkali consumption and shorter fixation times. Careful control of dye bath conditions is recommended to minimize hydrolysis and ensure optimal utilization. Reactive Blue 19 is commonly used for denim, knitted fabrics, and home textiles that require high color brilliance and fastness, and it also functions as an essential blue component in three-primary reactive dye combinations.

FAQ
Q: What process is recommended for the application of this series of dyes in textiles?
A: In the textile industry, the recommended process for reactive dyes is entirely determined by fabric type (knitted/woven), production batch size (continuous/batch), and final quality requirements. Core process routes fall into two main categories: batch dyeing and continuous pad-dry-pad dyeing. For high-volume woven fabrics, continuous pad-dry-pad dyeing or cold pad-dry-pad systems are prioritized. For knitted fabrics, yarns, or small-batch orders, batch dyeing is employed.
Q: How can customers customize packaging dimensions and methods based on their specific requirements?
