Product Details
Solvent Blue 35 (also known as Sudan Blue II, Oil Blue 35) is a high-performance anthraquinone-based solvent dye. This product appears as a deep blue uniform powder and exhibits excellent chemical and thermal stability. Due to the absence of hydrophilic groups in its molecular structure, it is insoluble in water but readily soluble in most organic solvents, such as toluene, xylene, acetone, chloroform, DMF, and alcohols, forming transparent and vivid blue solutions.
As a classic hydrophobic fat-staining dye, it is widely used in biomedical fields for the specific staining of triglycerides in frozen sections of animal tissues. Its high affinity for lipids and clear staining effect make it an essential tool in pathological and histochemical research. In the field of plastics and resin coloring, Solvent Blue 35 demonstrates outstanding application performance. It is compatible with a wide range of resins, including ABS, PC (polycarbonate), HIPS (high-impact polystyrene), PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate), PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), and PS (polystyrene). Its coloring performance is excellent, providing vibrant and saturated colors with strong tinting strength. It also offers good heat resistance (withstanding processing temperatures above 300°C), light fastness, and migration resistance, ensuring long-term color stability in finished products. The dye exhibits strong process adaptability, making it suitable for traditional plastic coloring methods such as melt processing, injection molding, and extrusion, as well as for spin-dyeing of synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon, imparting uniform and durable internal coloration to fibers.
This product is classified as Transparent Blue 2N grade, making it particularly suitable for engineering plastics and high-end optical products that require transparency. Our product undergoes fine grinding and strict grading to ensure uniform particle size distribution and minimal batch-to-batch color variation (ΔE < 1.0). It complies with relevant industry standards and is an ideal choice for high-performance plastic coloring, fiber dyeing, and specialty ink formulation.

Solvent Dyes
Introduce:
Solvent dyes are a category of colorants specifically designed to dissolve directly in organic solvents and other non-polar media such as oils, waxes, resins, and plastic monomers. Unlike water-soluble dyes, they exist in true molecular solution within the medium, producing highly transparent, bright, and clean color effects. Their key advantages include excellent solubility in non-aqueous systems, high color strength, good thermal stability, and consistent shade performance, making them essential materials for coloring oil-based and solvent-based products.
These dyes are widely applied across multiple industries. In the ink and coating sectors, solvent dyes are used to formulate transparent and high-gloss inks, varnishes, and lacquers. In the plastics industry, they are employed for mass coloring of thermoplastics, synthetic fibers, and engineering plastics where clarity and color purity are required. They are also used in the coloration of waxes, fuels, wood products, and certain cosmetic and specialty chemical formulations.
In practical use, solvent dyes are applied by dissolving them directly into the target non-aqueous medium and ensuring uniform distribution at the molecular level. For inks and coatings, simple dissolution and controlled mixing are typically sufficient. For plastics and synthetic fibers, melt-blending or masterbatch processes are commonly adopted. This versatility, combined with their ability to deliver vivid and transparent colors, makes solvent dyes an indispensable choice for non-water-based coloring systems.
